Public Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of November 21, 2013.

Key Points

  • Bronchiolitis: low activity in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, although the epidemic has begun based on national data. The epidemic is active primarily in northern France, as is typically observed;

  • Influenza / Influenza-like illness: low activity in the Languedoc-Roussillon region and in France; however, a few sporadic cases have been reported in outpatient settings;

  • Gastroenteritis: low activity in the region and in France;

  • Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning: This week, four incidents of CO poisoning involving about ten people were reported to the CVAGS. These incidents indicate a resurgence of carbon monoxide poisoning as temperatures drop and call for vigilance.
