Key Points
Hospital Activity
Excesses were observed in all departments over the Pentecost weekend: these primarily concerned the total number of emergency room visits and, more specifically, those involving children under 1 year of age and adults over 75 years of age. The indicators returned to their baseline levels in the following days.
Summer Monitoring
Starting tomorrow, the seasonal monitoring component of the National Heat Wave Plan will be activated. In this context, you will find some of the indicators monitored during the summer season in the dedicated fact sheet.
Surveillance of vector-borne diseases
Since May 1, 20 suspected cases of chikungunya or dengue have been reported in the Gard and Hérault departments, and only one imported case of dengue has been confirmed. No locally acquired cases have been identified. Additionally, surveillance for West Nile virus infections will begin on June 1.
