News

Update on the flu epidemic: This is the first week in which the unified network of Grog and Sentinelles has estimated a regional incidence rate (LR) of outpatient visits below the national epidemic threshold (117 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with a threshold of 120 cases). National data remain above this same threshold (167 cases per 100,000 inhabitants). Visits to emergency rooms and doctors from SOS associations are trending downward in the LR region and across France.

Gastroenteritis: The Sentinelles network has estimated that incidence rates for France and the region remain below the national epidemic threshold. However, there was a slight increase in the number of diagnoses made by doctors from the SOS Médecins associations in Nîmes and Perpignan during weeks 11 and 12 of 2013. Nationally, SOS Médecins data are stable, while emergency room visits for this reason remain high.

Asthma: Use of emergency services for asthma is low in the region. Note that the RNSA (National Aerobiological Surveillance Network) reports a high allergy risk regarding pollen, particularly cypress pollen, for all coastal departments in the region
