Flu: Activity remains stable at a high level; for the third consecutive week, incidence rates estimated by the Unified Network (Grog+Sentinelles) remain very high, both regionally and nationwide; all data sources indicate that flu activity is very high this season regardless of the geographic level considered (emergency rooms, SOS Médecins); In Languedoc-Roussillon, 6 new severe cases of influenza were admitted to intensive care (bringing the total to 25 severe cases since the start of surveillance), and the percentage of positive influenza tests conducted by the laboratories at the Montpellier and Nîmes university hospitals continued to rise in week 2013-07. Type A viruses account for approximately 60% of identified viruses, and type B viruses for 40%;
Gastroenteritis: moderate activity; although the Sentinelles network reports an incidence rate of outpatient visits for acute diarrhea that is very slightly above the national threshold, other data sources (emergency departments and SOS Médecins) do not indicate high activity related to this illness;
