Public Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of December 5, 2013.

Key points

  • Bronchiolitis: slight increase in calls to the SOS Médecins networks in Nîmes and Perpignan and in emergency room visits for this reason, though it cannot be said that an epidemic has begun in the Languedoc-Roussillon region; the number of cases continues to rise nationwide;

  • Influenza / Flu-like syndromes: low activity in the Languedoc-Roussillon region and in France; a few sporadic cases in outpatient settings; data from the unified GROG and Sentinelles network show an increase in primary care visits for flu-like syndromes, although virology has not identified any additional isolation of influenza viruses;

  • Gastroenteritis: low activity.
