Public Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of December 12, 2013.

Key Points

  • Bronchiolitis: increasing activity in the Languedoc-Roussillon region; activity reported by SOS Médecins regarding bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age rose sharply in week 2013-49, as did emergency department visits with this diagnosis, though to a lesser extent;

  • Influenza: low activity in the Languedoc-Roussillon region and in France; a few sporadic cases in outpatient settings; after consolidation, data from the unified GROG and Sentinelles network show no clear increase in consultations for influenza-like illness in private practice;

  • Gastroenteritis: low activity in the Languedoc-Roussillon region; data from the Sentinelles network and the SOS Médecins network show a trend toward an increase in acute diarrhea and gastroenteritis.
