Public Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of April 4, 2013.

Flu: The epidemic is over in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, as it is in France. Influenza viruses continue to circulate and may be responsible for sporadic cases.

Gastroenteritis: According to the Sentinelles network, incidence rates for acute diarrhea in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, as well as those for France, increased during week 2013-13 and rose above the epidemic threshold defined at the national level.

Asthma and allergies: Emergency room visits for asthma are increasing slightly in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Note that the RNSA (National Aerobiological Surveillance Network) reports a high allergy risk related to pollen, particularly cypress pollen, for all coastal departments in the region.
