Key development
In Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées, since May 1, 2016, 155 suspected cases have been reported in the 8 departments under enhanced surveillance:
no locally acquired cases have been identified,
53 imported cases (i.e., from areas where the virus is circulating) of Zika, 18 of dengue, 1 of Flavivirus (unspecified), and 1 of chikungunya have been confirmed.
Nationwide, from May 1 to July 28, 2016:
No cases of local vector-borne transmission,
2 cases of Zika virus infection through sexual transmission have been confirmed,
200 imported cases (i.e., from travelers returning from areas where the virus is circulating) of Zika, 72 of dengue, and 4 of chikungunya were confirmed.
