Health Surveillance in Occitanie. Epidemiological Update as of February 28, 2017.

Key Points

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: In the Occitanie region, indicators tracking influenza activity continued to decline in week 08 of 2017. However, as the influenza virus is still circulating, vigilance remains essential, particularly if clinical signs suggestive of influenza appear in at-risk individuals.

Bronchiolitis (in children under 2 years of age): The Occitanie region remained in the post-epidemic phase during week 8. Despite a decrease in the number of cases observed, the hospitalization rate for bronchiolitis in this age group remained high.

Gastroenteritis: After a peak in activity observed in week 5 of 2017, indicators remained stable at a high level.
