Final Epidemiological Update for the 2013-2014 Winter Season Surveillance of winter epidemics (influenza, gastroenteritis, bronchiolitis) concludes this week with the release of this final winter surveillance bulletin for the 2013-2014 season. These indicators will be presented again starting in October 2014. The preliminary assessment shows that the 2013-2014 influenza epidemic was of low intensity, short duration, dominated by equal circulation of the A(H1N1)pdm09 and A(H3N2) viruses in the community, and without any particular severity.Unless there is an unusual health event or a significant increase in the indicators, the next Point Epidémio update will be released on May 16. Weekly updates will resume on June 6, 2014, with a summary of health indicators from the heat wave and health alert system.
