Hospital Activity Monitoring:
Over the past 7 days, only March 26 saw an increase in emergency department activity in the departments of Aude and Hérault. Both the total number of visits and the number of hospitalizations exceeded the statistical thresholds calculated for these two departments, along with the indicator for visits by people aged 75 and older in Aude. By the following day, the indicator values had fallen back below the statistical thresholds.
Monitoring of seasonal illnesses:
Influenza: Data from the Unified Sentinel Network and Grog report an incidence rate of consultations for influenza-like illness in primary care of 89 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, below the national epidemic threshold. This would therefore signal the imminent end of the epidemic, with other data sources confirming the downward trend for this disease.
Gastroenteritis: The gastroenteritis epidemic is still active but at a low level. Depending on the data sources, trends vary: the Inserm Sentinelles network shows a new increase in outpatient consultations for acute diarrhea, exceeding the national threshold in week 2012-12 (332 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with a threshold of 151).
Bronchiolitis: outbreak over.
