Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of July 3, 2014.

Key Points

  • Vector-borne diseases: Since the start of enhanced surveillance for chikungunya and dengue, 48 reports of clinically suggestive cases of one or the other of these diseases have been received. Of these, 27 were confirmed as chikungunya and 4 as dengue. All of these cases contracted the disease while traveling in an endemic area: these are referred to as imported cases. To date, no locally acquired cases have been reported in our region.

  • Hospital and medical activity in the region: no particular trends for the indicators monitored during this time of year.
