Hospital Activity Monitoring (SRVA): A temporary increase in the total number of emergency room visits was observed in the Gard department, coinciding with the threshold being exceeded for children under 1 year of age, likely linked to the spread of the bronchiolitis epidemic. In the following days, the indicators returned to their baseline levels. In Lozère, threshold exceedances should be interpreted with caution given the low number of cases.

Monitoring of seasonal illnesses:

  • bronchiolitis: the number of cases diagnosed in emergency departments continues to rise sharply, confirming the spread of the epidemic in the region, while the peak was reached in week 2011-48 in France,

  • flu-like syndromes: data from the SOS Médecins associations report an increase in flu-related activity, with a notable rise in flu diagnoses among children under 5 years of age at the national level (+48% between weeks 2011-49 and 50). In Languedoc-Roussillon, visits to emergency departments for this condition remain infrequent,

  • Gastroenteritis: There has been a sharp increase in gastroenteritis diagnoses made in emergency departments and by doctors from the SOS Médecins associations, both regionally and nationally.
