COVID-19

  • In Occitanie, according to data available as of July 21, 2022, for week 28 of 2022, the positivity rate was slightly higher than the previous week: a positivity rate of 36.7% (compared to 35.5% in week 27 of 2022, an increase of 1.2 percentage points), while the incidence rate was lower than the previous week: 1,268 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (compared to 1,435 in week 27 of 2022, a decrease of 12%). The testing rate was also decreasing to 3,457 per 100,000 inhabitants (compared to 4,045 in week 27-2022, a decrease of 15%). At the regional level, positivity rates were increasing in all age groups except for 6- to 14-year-olds, where this indicator was decreasing. Incidence and testing rates were stable or decreasing across all age groups, with a sharp decrease among 0- to 15-year-olds (-28% and 624%, respectively, compared to the previous week).

  • The effective reproduction number (R) estimated from regional SI-DEP data through July 16, 2022, was 0.86 (0.85–0.87), down from the previous week.

Monkeypox

  • 111 confirmed cases in Occitanie as of July 19, 2022, and several cases are currently under investigation.
