COVID-19

In Occitanie, according to data available as of February 23, 2022, for week 07-2022, virological indicators showed a sharp decline compared to the previous week but remained at very high levels: a positivity rate of 25.7% (compared to 31.0% in week 06-2022, a decrease of 5.3 percentage points) and an incidence rate of 1,064 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (compared to 1,781 in week 06-2022, a decrease of 40%). The testing rate continued to decline to 4,149 per 100,000 inhabitants versus 5,741 in week 06-2022, a decrease of 28%. Regionally, incidence, positivity, and testing rates were declining across all age groups.

Influenza and Influenza-Like Illness

The region has been in an epidemic phase for 10 weeks. After an increase in late December, indicators declined in early January and have since stabilized at a high level. Children under 15 years of age continue to be particularly affected.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • In hospital settings, according to data reported by emergency departments to the Oscour® network, gastroenteritis activity was high in week 07-2022. Visits for gastroenteritis across all age groups were down compared to the previous week. In week 07-2022, 648 visits for gastroenteritis were recorded, representing 2.3% of total visits (766 visits in week 06-2022).

  • In private practice, according to data from the SOS Médecins associations in the region, gastroenteritis activity was moderate in week 07-2022. Procedures for all ages due to a diagnosis of gastroenteritis were increasing compared to the previous week when data from the Toulouse association were excluded (data missing since 02/16). In week 07-2022, 224 procedures for this diagnosis were recorded in Occitanie (partial data for Toulouse), representing 8.7% of the overall activity of the SOS Médecins associations.
