Health Monitoring in the Occitanie Region. Update as of February 10, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
Overall, in week 05-2022, despite a stabilization or even decrease in regional indicators across all age groups, there was still an increase in both incidence and positivity rates among those aged 65 and older at the regional level, as well as in positivity rates in five departments. These findings suggest that viral circulation continues in these age groups and regions. For the other departments and age groups, we will need to wait until next week to confirm the observed stabilization or decline.
Influenza
The region has been in an epidemic phase for 8 weeks. After an initial surge in the eastern part of the region in late December, indicators declined in early January, reaching a high plateau and stabilizing over the past 5 weeks.
Acute gastroenteritis
OSCOUR: Gastroenteritis activity was high in week 05-2022 (Figure 13). Visits across all age groups for a diagnosis of gastroenteritis were down compared to the previous week but stable compared to the preceding weeks (Figure 14). In week 05-2022, 584 visits for gastroenteritis were recorded, representing 2.1% of all visits (including 412 from patients under 5 years of age, compared to 659 visits in week 04-2022, including 465 from patients under 5).
SOS Médecins: Gastroenteritis activity was low in week 05-2022 (Figure 15). Procedures for all ages with a diagnosis of gastroenteritis increased compared to the previous week but remained stable compared to the preceding weeks (Figure 16). In week 05-2022, 257 cases for this diagnosis were recorded, representing 7.8% of the overall activity of the SOS Médecins associations, including 88 cases in children under 5 years of age (196 cases in week 04-2022).
Sentinel data: the incidence rate of acute diarrhea cases seen in general practice was 79 per 100,000 [39; 119], a slight decrease compared to the previous week (89 per 100,000).
