Key indicators

City-wide surveillance

  • SOS Médecins: 1,946 cases suspected of COVID-19 per 10,000 cases (Week 14*, 2,252 in Week 13*)

  • Sentinelles Network: 285 [215;355] (tele-)consultations for acute respiratory infections per 100,000 inhabitants (Week 14, 330 in Week 13)

Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes

  • 1,185 cases, including 93 deaths reported as of April 7, 2020

Hospital surveillance

  • Oscour® Network: 1,089 visits for suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 visits (Week 14, 911 in Week 13)

  • Hospital laboratories: 15% of tests positive in week 14 (20% in week 13)

  • Sentinel intensive care units: 55% of cases aged 65 and older, and 66% of cases with at least one risk factor. 90% of cases who died in these units had at least one comorbidity

Mortality surveillance

  • Moderate excess mortality from all causes (all ages and among those aged 65 and older) in week 13 in the Hérault

*W14/W13: for week 14 (March 30–April 5, 2020) and week 13 (March 23–March 29, 2020)
