Key Points

  • From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in conjunction with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in mainland France.

  • In Occitanie, from May 1 to July 1, 2025, 51 imported cases of dengue and 77 imported cases of chikungunya were identified. A first locally acquired case of chikungunya was identified in the Hérault department. A second locally acquired case of chikungunya in Occitanie was identified in the Gard department.

  • To limit the risk of local transmission, 152 entomological surveys and 81 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of the cases.
