Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Bulletin dated July 24, 2025.

Key Points

  • In Occitanie, from May 1 to July 22, 2025, 69 imported cases of dengue and 88 imported cases of chikungunya were identified.

  • Seven locally acquired cases of chikungunya were identified: 6 in Hérault (including 5 in the town of Castries) and 1 in Gard.

  • To limit the risk of local transmission, 194 entomological surveys and 115 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of the cases.

  • Nationwide, from May 1 to July 22, 2025, the following were identified:

    • 624 imported cases of dengue, 48% of which were returning from Guadeloupe or Martinique,

    • 833 imported cases of chikungunya, 80% of which were returning from Réunion,

    • 2 imported cases of Zika.
