Acute Respiratory Infections
In week 48, indicators of acute respiratory infections showed a marked increase in outpatient settings and hospitals across all age groups, but were particularly pronounced among children under 5 years of age.
This increase was mainly due to the rise in cases of acute bronchitis (in community practice), influenza (in community practice and in hospitals), bronchiolitis (in hospitals), and pneumonia (in hospitals).
Bronchiolitis (children under 1 year of age)
The Occitanie region entered an epidemic phase in week 48 of 2025.
Emergency room visits for bronchiolitis among children under 1 year of age are on the rise, against a backdrop of rapidly accelerating RSV circulation according to virology data (in hospitals and in community settings).
Influenza and influenza-like illness
The Occitanie region is entering a pre-epidemic phase in week 48 of 2025.
In week 48-2025, a clear increase in syndromic and virological indicators of influenza is observed.
The increase in syndromic indicators is observed across all age groups.
Other regions (Ile-de-France, Normandy, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine) are entering an epidemic phase in week 48 of 2025. All other regions in mainland France are in the pre-epidemic phase, with the exception of Corsica.
COVID-19
Indicators are stable and at low levels.
