Headlines - Ebola Virus Outbreak

Due to the evolution of the epidemic on an international scale, the definition of a suspected case was modified effective November 24, 2014: A suspected case is defined as any person who, within 21 days of returning from a risk area*, has a fever measured by a healthcare provider of 38°C or higher.

* As of November 24, 2014, the risk area is defined as the following countries: Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, and the Bamako district (Mali)

As of October 20, 2014, Nigeria is no longer part of the risk area. As of November 24, 2014, the Democratic Republic of the Congo is no longer part of the risk area.
