Bronchiolitis

The epidemic continues for the fourth consecutive week, with activity levels intensifying in emergency departments during week 13 of 2021.

  • 66 SOS Médecins consultations were recorded, representing 7% of activity among children under 2 years of age (compared to 7.6% in week 12).

  • 157 emergency department visits were recorded, representing 12.1% of activity among children under 2 years of age (compared to 9.7% in week 12), of which 80 were followed by hospitalization, representing 51% of bronchiolitis cases (compared to 45% in week 12); 35% of hospitalized cases were under 3 months of age (compared to 37% in week 12).

  • 32% of hospitalizations among children under 2 years of age were for bronchiolitis (compared to 22% in week 12).

  • Very active circulation of RSV in the region.
