Combating Healthcare-Associated Infections Under the auspices of the Healthcare-Associated Infection Alert, Investigation, and Surveillance Network (RAISIN), a partnership between the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance and the Healthcare-Associated Infection Control Coordination Centers (CClin), a national prevalence survey (ENP) was conducted between May and June 2012 in 1,938 healthcare facilities representing 90.6% of hospital beds in France.The aim of this survey was to measure, on a given day, the number of infected patients, to classify these infections by type of facility, department, site of infection, and causative microorganism, and to describe the antimicrobial treatments prescribed.
