COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Nouvelle-Aquitaine as of December 3, 2020

The decline in SARS-CoV-2 circulation in the region continues, with a marked decrease in all indicators during Week 48 (November 23–29, 2020).
In week 48, the number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases continued to decline, with 4,876 new confirmed cases recorded in the region, compared to approximately 6,800 in week 47. The incidence rate continues to decline (-28% compared to the previous week), with a rate below 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (81.3 per 100,000 inhabitants). This decline is observed across all age groups; however, the highest incidence rate remains among those aged 75 and older.
The positivity rate is below the 10% threshold for the second consecutive week (8.1% in week 48 and 9.5% in week 47); this decline is visible across all age groups, although the highest positivity rate is also observed among people aged 75 and older, where it remains above the 10% threshold.
The testing rate is also declining, with approximately 1,000 tests per 100,000 inhabitants in week 48, compared to 1,194 per 100,000 inhabitants the previous week.
