From January 21 to April 7, 2020, 2,566 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (78,167 cases of COVID-19 in France)

Surveillance of hospital and private laboratories
Since March 28, 2020, a downward trend in the number of positive SARS-CoV-2 test results has been observed
The departments of Vienne, Haute-Vienne, Corrèze, Creuse, and Gironde have the highest incidence rates
Community-based surveillance
SOS Médecins: downward trend in COVID-19 activity in Week 14 of 2020, with 1,040 cases involving suspected COVID-19, representing 16.3% of total activity (1,462 cases, or 20.1%, in Week 13)
Private laboratories (3 labs): 9.6% of tests were positive in Week 14 of 2020 (10.6% in Week 13 of 2020), compared to 28.0% in France
Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes
773 cases, including 52 deaths reported as of April 8, 2020
Hospital surveillance
Oscour® Network: downward trend in emergency department activity for COVID-19 in Week 14 of 2020, with 1,701 visits for suspected COVID-19, representing 12.0% of total hospital emergency department activity (1,908 visits, or 13.4%, in Week 13 of 2020)
Hospital laboratories at the Bordeaux, Limoges, and Poitiers University Hospitals: 11.8% of tests were positive in Week 14 of 2020 (13.0% in Week 13 of 2020)
Sentinel intensive care units: 57.0% of cases are aged 65 and older, and 66.3% of cases have at least one risk factor
Mortality surveillance
As of April 7, 2020, 152 deaths had been reported by hospitals in Nouvelle-Aquitaine
No excess mortality detected through week S13-2020 (March 23–29, 2020) at the departmental and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional levels
