  • 14 episodes of local transmission of chikungunya identified in the region as of September 18, 2025: one in Landes (1 case), one in Pyrénées-Atlantiques (3 cases), one in Charente (14 cases), two in Dordogne (77 cases), two in Gironde (4 cases), four in Charente-Maritime (7 cases), one in Corrèze (5 cases), one in Deux-Sèvres (1 case), and one reported in both Gironde and Charente-Maritime (1 case);

  • An episode of local dengue transmission identified in Gironde (3 cases detected as of September 18, 2025);

  • Investigations, management, and prevention measures are underway.

Summary of imported cases

  • From May 1 to September 15, 148 imported cases of chikungunya and 115 imported cases of dengue identified as probable or confirmed, and no imported cases of Zika;

  • Most individuals were returning from a trip to French overseas territories.
