Surveillance of Bronchiolitis in Upper and Lower Normandy. Update as of March 13, 2014.

Situation in Lower Normandy and Upper Normandy

A general review of indicators regarding bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age in Lower Normandy and Upper Normandy indicates that seasonal bronchiolitis activity among these children continues to decline in both regions, both in hospitals and in community settings. The bronchiolitis epidemic appears to be coming to an end, and levels recorded prior to the winter epidemic are expected to be reached in the coming weeks, consistent with what is typically observed in both regions at this time of year during previous epidemic seasons. The 2013–2014 winter outbreak in Lower Normandy and Upper Normandy followed a similar pattern to those observed in previous years.
