Surveillance of Acute Gastroenteritis in Upper and Lower Normandy as of November 13, 2014

Epidemiological Situation

Activity indicators for acute gastroenteritis reported by emergency departments in Normandy remain stable at low levels. In contrast, those reported by the SOS Médecins associations in both regions, following a two-week slight decline corresponding to the school vacation period, continue the upward trend that began in week 2014-39. The proportion of cases and the number of diagnoses related to acute gastroenteritis reported by the SOS Médecins associations exceed the values typically observed at this time of year. Such values are usually seen at the onset of an epidemic phase.
