The 2012 "heat wave" plan, which outlines the measures for preventing and managing the health impacts of a heat wave to be implemented during the summer of 2012, was activated between June 1 and August 31. As in previous years, the plan notably provides for the implementation of public health monitoring at the departmental level in collaboration with the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS).
