Health Surveillance in Normandy. Bulletin of January 30, 2025.
Key Points
Influenza and Flu-Like Illness
The flu epidemic continues in Normandy, with varying trends across age groups. Thus, following an initial peak early in the year, indicators are rising again among those under 15 (community and hospital settings) while remaining stable (hospital) or declining (community) among those over 65.
Overall levels remain high. Strains A (H1N1), A (H3N2), and B/Victoria are circulating simultaneously.
The proportion of deaths with a mention of influenza among electronically certified deaths is stabilizing and remains at a high level.
Bronchiolitis
The bronchiolitis outbreak has ended in Normandy.
All indicators have returned to low levels.
Acute gastroenteritis
Emergency room activity is increasing across all age groups. Community-based activity (SOS Médecins) for acute gastroenteritis is mixed: stable at a moderate level among those over 15 years of age, and increasing to a still moderate level among those under 15 years of age.
