Health Surveillance in Normandy. Bulletin of January 21, 2026.
Key Points
Influenza
Despite an overall decline in surveillance indicators, the flu epidemic is still ongoing, and flu viruses are still circulating at high levels. Among children under 15, a resurgence of the epidemic is being observed, with an increase in the number of emergency room visits and consultations at SOS Médecins.
The flu vaccination campaign continues through January 31. As of December 31, 2025, in Normandy, among at-risk individuals, 57% of those aged 65 and older had been vaccinated against the flu, while among those under 65, 32% had been vaccinated. These estimates are higher than those observed on the same date in 2024.
Bronchiolitis
The bronchiolitis epidemic is coming to an end. A return to normal levels is observed across all indicators, whether in urban areas (number of visits to SOS Médecins and procedures performed by the Normandy Bronchiolitis Network) or in hospitals (number of emergency room visits). The number of RSV cases identified through virological testing is also declining.
