National Situation

According to the update dated 12/26/12 (InVS), the number of visits to hospital emergency departments for bronchiolitis in infants is declining in France. The peak of the epidemic has passed in the Île-de-France region and in the northern part of the country. The pattern of this season’s bronchiolitis epidemic is similar to that observed during the 2011–2012 season. According to the Grog network of physicians, activity related to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in young children remains high but has been declining since week 51 of 2012 in the northern half of France.
