Health Monitoring in Normandy. Update as of November 9, 2023.

Key points

Bronchiolitis

Normandy is in an epidemic phase for the third consecutive week. The increase in emergency department activity continued, while SOS Médecins activity rose again this week. Their levels were lower than those of the previous season during the same period. The proportion of RSV isolates from the Rouen University Hospital virology laboratory (data from Caen University Hospital not available in S44-2023) was rising sharply. However, the circulation of rhinovirus and enterovirus remained significant.

COVID-19

For the past five weeks, all COVID-19 activity indicators have continued to decline in Normandy across all age groups. Low ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection): Activity was on the rise at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments, though with disparities by age. This trend reflects the increase in bronchiolitis among children and the decline in COVID-19 across all age groups.
