COVID-19

  • In Week 36, SARS-CoV-2 circulation began to rise again in Normandy, with an increase in the incidence rate (IR) to 187 per 100,000 inhabitants (+35%), the testing rate (+18%), and the positivity rate (+2.5 percentage points). This increase was observed in all departments and across all age groups except for those aged 70–90.

  • In the pre-hospital setting, the number of procedures performed by SOS Médecins associations saw a slight increase in Week 36 following a decline in Week 35. The number of emergency department visits also saw a slight increase in Week 36. The number of new hospital admissions was rising across all departments and remained stable in critical care units. The number of deaths remained stable and at a low level in hospitals, as well as in long-term care facilities.

Monkeypox

  • As of September 8, 2022, 44 confirmed cases had been reported in Normandy.
