In Week 22, SARS-CoV-2 circulation in Normandy increased slightly after several weeks of decline, with an incidence rate (IR) of 211 per 100,000 inhabitants (+6%) and a positivity rate of 17.9% (+0.1 percentage points). This increase in the IR was observed across all departments in Normandy and for all age groups except those under 10 and over 90, where the IR decreased.
In the pre-hospital setting, activity in emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 decreased, but the number of interventions by SOS Médecins was on the rise.
The number of hospitalized patients across all departments was decreasing, while it remained stable in critical care units. The number of deaths was stable in hospitals as well as in long-term care facilities. The number of deaths remained very low in long-term care facilities.
