Bronchiolitis Surveillance, Upper and Lower Normandy as of November 27, 2014

Epidemiological Situation

A general review of regional indicators shows that bronchiolitis activity among children under 2 years of age has once again intensified in the Basse-Normandie and Haute-Normandie regions since week 2014-46, following a decline observed after the All Saints’ Day holidays. This trend is also observed at the national level. These observations confirm the onset of the seasonal bronchiolitis epidemic at the national level as well as in the two regions of Normandy. The current trend is consistent with the patterns observed during previous epidemic seasons for these two regions.
