In Île-de-France, nearly 2,500 people learned they were HIV-positive in 2018. Relative to the region’s population, the rate of new HIV diagnoses is 203 per million inhabitants, three times higher than that observed in other regions of metropolitan France.

In 2019, more than 1.5 million HIV tests were conducted in Île-de-France, representing a rate of 129 per 1,000 inhabitants (95% CI: [125–132]), an increase compared to 2018. The rate of serology tests confirmed positive remained stable in the Île-de-France region in 2019.

Prevention

Sales of male condoms have risen sharply in the Île-de-France region, with 26,262,555 male condoms sold in 2019 compared to 17,933,372 in 2018.
