Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic level: Bronchiolitis activity levels were down in week 49 and continued to remain at a level comparable to last season. The Île-de-France region is on epidemic alert for the seventh week.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

  • Healthcare activity related to influenza continued to rise sharply, both in hospitals and in community settings. The under-15 age group saw the fastest and highest increase in the number of people seeking care for influenza-like illness. The number of hospitalizations following visits to the emergency room was also rising rapidly.

  • The Île-de-France region was under an epidemic alert for the second consecutive week.

COVID-19

  • SOS Médecins: The number of cases involving suspected COVID-19 remained stable across all age groups. Case numbers remained low.

  • Emergency department visits: The number of emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19 remained stable across all age groups. Case numbers remained low.

  • SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater: In week 49, an overall upward trend in the level of SARS-CoV-2 circulation in wastewater in Île-de-France was observed. All monitored stations had interpretable results.
