Key Points
In Week 09 in Île-de-France, the decline in virological indicators slowed, while hospital indicators continued to decrease. The public health situation remained favorable, but the persistently high levels of the indicators called for continued vigilance.
The crude incidence rate stood at 305 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and decreased for the 8th consecutive week, though at a less pronounced rate in Week 9
The testing rate was decreasing for the eighth consecutive week
The positivity rate increased after five consecutive weeks of decline. It remained high at 12.0%
The BA.2 sublineage of the Omicron variant has become the dominant strain in Île-de-France
SI-VIC data continued to show a decline in new hospitalizations, new ICU admissions, and COVID-19-related hospital deaths
Vaccination coverage is slowly increasing in the region.
Given the high level of viral circulation, vaccinating all eligible individuals remains essential and must be combined with strict adherence to other preventive measures.
