COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Île-de-France Region as of July 28, 2022.

  • The regional incidence rate stood at 531 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and declined for the second time after six consecutive weeks of increases. The testing rate followed the same trend.

  • The positivity rate (20.8%) showed a decline and fell for the second time after seven consecutive weeks of increases.

  • The BA.4 and BA.5 sublineages of the Omicron variant have been predominant in Île-de-France for the past 6 weeks.

  • Use of primary care and emergency services for “suspected COVID-19” was decreasing.

  • The number of new hospitalizations, as well as the number of new admissions to intensive care and COVID-19-related hospital deaths, were decreasing.

  • The number of new COVID-19 cases reported by healthcare facilities, as well as the total number of new reported cases, remained stable.
