COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Île-de-France Region as of August 11, 2022.

In Week 31 in Île-de-France, SARS-CoV-2 circulation continued to decline, confirming the downward trend in the epidemic observed over the past 4 weeks.

  • The regional incidence rate stood at 188 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and decreased for the fourth time after six consecutive weeks of increases. The testing rate followed the same trend.

  • The positivity rate (12.5%) declined for the fourth consecutive week.

  • The BA.4 and BA.5 sublineages of the Omicron variant have been predominant in Île-de-France for seven weeks, and their proportion continued to rise.

  • Use of primary care and emergency services for “suspected COVID-19” was decreasing.

  • The number of new hospitalizations, the number of new admissions to intensive care, and the number of hospital deaths related to COVID-19 were decreasing.

  • The number of new COVID-19 cases reported by healthcare facilities, as well as the total number of new reported cases, was decreasing.
