Olympic and Paralympic Games

  • Hospital Emergency Department Activity: The number of emergency department visits decreased due to the summer vacation period. Note that there was an increase in visits related to alcohol abuse. The number of hospitalizations remained stable at a moderate level.

  • SOS Médecins activity: The number of SOS Médecins calls decreased due to the summer holidays. Note a moderate increase in the number of people treated for migraines and headaches.

  • Activity of the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP): The number of people treated decreased. Note a moderate increase in the number of people treated for breathing difficulties.

Extreme heat, heat wave

  • All departments in the Île-de-France region are under a green alert.

Dengue, chikungunya, Zika

  • 176 confirmed or probable cases of imported dengue fever have been investigated to date, compared to 92 during the same period in 2023. A first atypical case of chikungunya has been classified as locally transmitted in Île-de-France, as it meets the definition criteria. There is no link to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Measles

  • Over the past few weeks, there has been an increase in mandatory reports of measles.

Pertussis

  • There has been a significant increase in visits to SOS Médecins and emergency rooms for whooping cough since the start of the second quarter of 2024 in Île-de-France.

COVID-19

  • A decrease in indicators of outpatient and emergency department visits in the Île-de-France region.
