Breast cancer: Encouraging women to get screened.

In 2000, the General Council, the Health Insurance Agency, healthcare professionals, and patient representatives launched an organized breast cancer screening program in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis. Then, in 2004, in Bondy, a partnership with local medical and social service providers was established as part of a health promotion project, and two public health visitors were recruited. While screening rates have indeed increased, a major challenge remains: 25% of women still do not participate in the program despite the efforts made.
