Surveillance of Occupational Diseases in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region: 2020 Occupational Disease Awareness Week
Occupational diseases (ODs) encompass all illnesses that physicians—and occupational physicians in particular—deem, based on their expertise, to be related to work and that are not recognized by any social security system. As a result, they are not included in the annual social security statistics. As part of its mission to conduct epidemiological surveillance of occupational risks, Santé publique France has, in close collaboration with the Occupational Health Inspection (Directorate General of Labor), implemented a program to monitor ODDs for the past 15 years. In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, this program is jointly conducted by Santé publique France, the Occupational Health Inspection of the DREETS, and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Health Observatory (ORS). The results for the first half of 2020 are presented in this brochure.
