Public Health Surveillance in Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Epidemiological Update, February 19, 2013.

Key Points

Influenza: In France, after 9 weeks above the epidemic threshold, influenza activity has remained very high and stable since the beginning of February. In the region, according to doctors in the unified network, the incidence of flu-like illnesses is still rising (1,114 cases per 105 residents); surveillance indicators from emergency departments are also on the rise, while those from SOS Médecins are declining.

Acute gastroenteritis: Nationally, the incidence of acute gastroenteritis has been below the epidemic threshold for three weeks. In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, surveillance indicators for emergency department visits continue to decline, while those for SOS Médecins visits are rising again and have returned above the epidemic threshold.
