Enhanced monitoring under the Heat Wave and Health Alert System (SACS)

  • As of 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, Météo France placed 26 departments under an "orange alert," and Level 3 of the National Heat Wave Plan was activated. On Friday, July 3, 51 departments were placed under “orange alert” and 26 under “yellow alert.” Nationally, no health impact was observed in overall indicators (emergency room visits and SOS Médecins data) for all causes, all ages, and for those over 75.

  • In the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy regions, the departments of Nord and Aisne activated Level 3 “heatwave alert” of the National Heatwave Plan (PNC), while the other three remained at Level 2 “heat warning” from June 30 to July 4. A moderate and expected increase, given the high temperatures, in the use of SOS Médecins and emergency services for heat-related conditions was observed. However, this increase remained modest and had no impact on the overall activity of SOS Médecins and emergency services.
