Monitoring of Bronchiolitis

  • In mainland France, the number of emergency room visits for bronchiolitis has been rising since early October

  • In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, RSV circulation has increased in recent weeks, and the regional epidemic threshold was crossed for the first time this week. The epidemic peak could be reached during the end-of-year holidays

  • In Picardy, the proportion of calls to SOS Médecins has increased but remains below the regional epidemic threshold

Surveillance of influenza-like illnesses

  • In mainland France, influenza activity remains low, although there has been an increase in consultations for influenza-like illnesses in outpatient and inpatient settings

  • In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, influenza-like illnesses diagnosed by SOS Médecins and in emergency departments are also on the rise

Surveillance of severe influenza cases

  • In mainland France, 6 severe cases of influenza (1 un-subtyped A(H3N2) virus and 3 B viruses) have been reported since the start of surveillance

  • In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, no severe cases of influenza have been reported.

Surveillance of acute gastroenteritis

  • In mainland France, the incidence of acute diarrhea cases seen in general practice remains below the epidemic threshold

  • In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, as is the case across France, regional indicators remain below epidemic thresholds

  • In the Picardy region, the number of acute gastroenteritis cases diagnosed by SOS Médecins is on the rise this week and exceeds the regional epidemic threshold
