Health Surveillance in Picardy. Epidemiological Update, March 6, 2013.

Key Points

Flu: In mainland France, flu activity continues to decline for the second week following an 11-week epidemic. In Picardy, according to doctors in the unified network, the incidence of flu-like illnesses has dropped sharply over the past two weeks (513 and 326 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively, compared to 793 during the peak of the epidemic in week 2013-07). SOS Médecins surveillance indicators have also shown a marked decline over the past two weeks, remaining above the regional epidemic threshold for the 12th consecutive week.

Acute gastroenteritis: Nationally, the incidence of acute gastroenteritis has been below the epidemic threshold for one month now. Regionally, surveillance indicators for SOS Médecins consultations are steadily declining. The regional epidemic threshold has not been exceeded for the past three weeks.
