Key Points as of April 18, 2013

  • Influenza: In mainland France and across the regions, all indicators have returned to low levels comparable to those observed in late September. A few influenza A or B viruses continue to be detected and may be responsible for sporadic cases.

  • Acute gastroenteritis: Nationally, the incidence of acute gastroenteritis cases is above the epidemic threshold. Regionally, the number of emergency department visits for acute gastroenteritis has been rising over the past four weeks, while outpatient surveillance indicators (SOS Médecins) are declining but remain above the regional epidemic threshold.
