Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Transition to an epidemic phase

  • Accelerated spread of RSV in the Hauts-de-France region and significant increase in healthcare utilization for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age (SOS and emergency departments)

Influenza

  • Non-epidemic situation

  • Low demand for medical care for influenza or flu-like illness. Low circulation of influenza viruses in the region

COVID-19

  • Epidemic decline

  • Decrease in healthcare utilization for suspected Covid-19 and in the number of reported Covid-19 cases in long-term care facilities in the region

Gastroenteritis

  • Moderate activity

  • In week 44, healthcare visits for acute gastroenteritis (AG) decreased at SOS Médecins and remained stable in emergency departments. The incidence of acute diarrhea, as estimated by the Sentinelles network, is also stable. In week 44, only a few rotaviruses were isolated in patients treated for acute gastroenteritis at the Lille University Hospital (data from the Amiens University Hospital not available for week 44 of 2023)
